Paid $270. It came from an old group buy from another forum. I will try and see if I can source some pullies and do a group buy for us.

I think it well worth the $, how much does a good air intake cost? about the same price, and this doesn't drop low end power, needs no carb exemption, and is easier to install.

With the fit, every little bit helps when it comes to power!
I do this for fun, as a hobby.

I bought this car to turn it into a little pocket rocket, thats fun to drive.

Next I plan to do pivot raizin & i/h/e.

I wonder if the fit engine is factory balanced with or without that pulley. Anyone know?

imo it's not woth the risk, bearings and seals will wear out faster for a little more power.

My question is, how does this harm the engine?

My understanding is that the decrease in pulley mass means less force is needed to drive it. Assuming the engine is working the same, the force saved to drive the pulley can be put down to the wheels?

F = ma ? no...?

Isn't it similar to having lighter wheels?

If im not making sense.. excuse me.. i've been working my arse off for the past 3 days trying to get this tech project done

I don't know what the risks are, as this has been hammered to death
in many automotive forums.

The pulley makes your engine run smoother.
I've read that in other cars these dampners with the rubber band
sandwiched in the middle are there to dampned the vibrations to the
accessories. After all, its not there to balance the crankshaft.

Some say the dampner is made to absorb a certain frequency of vibration...and when we put on intakes and exhausts, we are changing our motors from stock, and throwing off this frequency.

Also not all honda have harmonic dampners, some civics have a solid crank pulley! Like the first generation crx.
Also doesn't honda make a solid pulley to replace the dampned one in the dc2???

I guess time will tell, I have yet to see one person who complains their crank pulley ruined their engine. Its always rumors and stories in other forums.

wow $220 is a lot of money for me plus shipping. I am not saying that is not worth it, If I had the money I'll buy it right away, but I don't. But I think and I'll stick on the theory that taking rotating weight from the fit is the better way to make it faster, and the light pulley makes a lot of sense.
The other thing would be the flywheel, but I dont know if it would take top speed breath away.
