The more impressive figure in my mind is that the 14cyl version makes 5.6 MILLION lb-ft torque. Both peak HP and Torque are made @ ~100rpm.
It uses about 6oz fuel for every piston in one rotation.
So 14 cylinders, 6 ounces each, and 102rpm means its using about 67 gallons/minute.
The Emma Maersk, which is one of the faster ships using this engine will do about ~29mph (25.5 knots).
So it's returning about 134 gallons/mile. This obviously changes with load and sea conditions, but that is just staggering to think about.
It is (was?) considered the most efficient ICE/HCCI 2-stroke engine in the world. Something like almost 50% thermal efficiency.
A guy I went to school with works on one of these. Absolutely insane numbers all around. The pistons are like 3 feet across.

Emma Mærsk runs boost...
lol but seriously, it weighs over 2500 tons. Its hard for me to wrap my mind around the dimensions. Im sure someone could shoehorn one into a fit with a little wiggling..
