Clutch Travel!!!

Clutch Travel!!!
This goes out to everyone who drives a 2007 5speed Fit i guess in the US!!
The clutch travel (on the way up), before reaching the 1/4 of an inch of engagement area, is like almost to the top!!
I thought that maybe it just needed to be broken in. Now i've got 1150miles on it and it's the same!
Is yours the same? or should i go back to dealer!
I have read an article describing, " the 5 speed clutch is like a feather, but the depression of 9 inches for 1/4 in of engagement felt lacking....."
Anyone in other markets (Europe, Asia, Auzzie) have this? Overcome this be some means?
Tks

I dont even have 100 miles on mine yet and ive pretty much mastered it already. I got the hang of it the first time I test drove it, the salesman was shocked how quickly I adapted to the clutch cause he wasnt driving nowhere near as smooth as I was. Its not an issue for me, I have another car which is a MT as well but the clutch engagement isnt that close to being at the top of the travel as the Fit's.

The rough feeling between shifts at lower rpm is do to the heavy flywheel... This continues the engine to briefly rev up and causes the rough or odd shifting feeling aswell...

I'm not saying that there is an issue necessarily, i was just wondering if it was normal!!
And to "claymore" thanks for the specs, As you can see, the full travel is 5.5 in and it engages 2.9 in most of the way towards the top!
The Fit happens to be in for service for a "we owe" item, the car came with a small dent on it they have to pay for and fIx! So i mentioned the clutch travel at the same time..
Lets see if they actually look at the specs! Because everyhonda i've driven before doesn't feel like the FIt's clutch, and if they don't research the specs they might think that there is something wrong As well!
We'll see! Thanks for confirming that it is normal, let's see what North Shore Honda on Long Island in New york thinks!

You can adjust the setting yourself more than likely. I don't have my fit yet but if its like most hydraulic systems its fairly easy to adjust.
look at the top of the clutch pedal where the master cylinder rod attaches to the pedal, there should be a codder pin through a rivet. if you pull the codder pin and rivet out and just "screw in" the part that attaches to the pedal it should set the engagement much lower.
It might sound lik a big task but if you have the slightest mechanical knowledge it should not be a problem just get down there and take a look.
This is what iknow from recenly doing my master cylinder replacement in my corolla.
