I already mentioned the slightly different intake design, but this is shared among all GEs. I know the intake manifold itself is also shaped a little differently.

The main difference is the i-VTEC head on the GE L13A and L15A. The GD L15A's VTEC is basically a valve-idling mechanism...below 3500 RPM the engine uses only one intake valve per cylinder. The i-VTEC head adjusts timing and lift across the whole range.

Other differences would probably involve the wiring as Jazz it up! has stated.

Temple of VTEC Asia has detailed technical write-ups on the GE L-series engines if you're curious.

More power in stock form is always good

I was looking into the swap as I've got a UK 1.4 SE Sport which is the L13 i-dsi. I came very close to getting an engine but money let me down, as far as I know it should be a straight swap over in terms of tranny fitment and engine mounts and if you're running an auto box you just need an ecu from an auto l15. Not sure bout the left hand drive side of things but I can't see it being that much of a problem as they don't make 2 seperate engines for different hand drive cars. Any garage should be able to advise you on that. Hope that helps!

Hi pal,

I'm driving the same L13A twin spark engine as you and looking into getting more juice out of my ride legally.

Surprise a swap is legal compare to boast. anyway, heard that a GE is not compatible with our GD engine. not aware how true is the statement.

However you may wanna consider a GD L15A Vtec?? some work required dou.

Before swap, have u consider doing up your engine? since you are not after that maximum gains from FI.

cheers,
Santa

I've bought a JDM GD3. It arrives in the next 6-8 weeks.
