Backfiring Prevention, possible?

Backfiring Prevention, possible?
Any ways to prevent backfiring when downshifting when running a performance exhuast?
(And yes, I know putting in the OEM exhuast will fix prevent it)

I think it is related to my rich tune... I really need to deal with that soon.
Just wondering; Does anybody else experience backfiring if you have your Cat removed with a full exhuast system?

Is definitely backfiring once in a while, a get a large BANG usually if I start downshifting suddenly for any reason. It is different from the popping sound which I think you are talking about.

Lean out your tune. It's your rich AFR that's causing unburned gas to build up in the exhaust. When you get off the throttle, you pump air into the exhaust.
That said, I like it. Makes my Fit sound like a rally car.
