Swapping my L13 for a L15

Hey guys, well...I have a JDM L13 CVT Fit. I have the chance to buy an L15 engine from a wreck . I know I will need the harness and ECU, but...I can't remember if the CTV tranny that I currently have, will work with the L15. Any idea? Is this swap even worth it?

Thank you very much.

No K20. I'm not really looking to go that far, besides my family uses the car so......Just wondering if the L15 is worth it. Thanks

I think if your not willing to go as far as a K20 than a L15 would be nice. I'm sure its better than the 1.3L. Eventhough its like only 10 or 15hp more?. Cant answer your tranny compatability question though.

hi, just wondering if you are changing a 1.5l IDSI or 1.5 Vtec engine?

dude,
about 2 months ago, i just swapped my JDM 1.3L iDSI into JDM 1.5L Vtec, with PnP and other upgraded internals except pistons and rods.
i have changed the the whole front half of the car, i was currently using CVT with the 1.3 and now i got the JDM MT, with taller and better gearing than the USDM.
I had the whole thing changed from ECU, ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, DRIVESHAFT, GAUGE CLUSTER AND THE HARNESS.
if u are gonna change u might was well change the whole thing cos honestly and i am sure u know this but the CVT is crap and is expensive and complicated in repairing if it gets damaged. So if u plan on changing for more power than forget it cos u wont feel it much with the CVT tranny. but if u plan on saving gas, than stick with ur 1.3 idsi CVT cos ur CVT wont last with the upgraded engine, my guys from Honda Bahrain have told me it will be too much strain dats why they have discontinued CVT trannies in Middle east.
GO ALL THE WAY OR STICK TO WAT U GOT.

BTW its only worth it if u going all the way. Right now i love my ride and it hauls ass and its not even boosted, i did the swap cos i wanted to get boosted and get more power, cos i know the CVT and wont last. i would not go back to CVT ever again. U want more power go MT.

Awesome...

I had ordered a JDM L15A vtec and its still stuck in the port.

they claims that it comes with all necessary parts...

Just wondering if we need to change the speedo as well?
Does the L13A stock airbox fit the L15A?

I had ordered a MT conversion.

BUt due to the package still stuck in the port.

I am not sure if they comes with it... but according to the engine supplier...
they'd give me an auto tranny(ie. non cvt) if the MT is not available.

well the auto tranny is wayyyy better than dat slow ass piece of shit CVT. but if u get the MT option go for it! but it not then AT is always better than CVT!!
But please try to get MT u wont regret it! trust me ! then again if this is ur Daily Driver and S.E. Asia usually has heavy traffic, AT will do. just my 2 cents brah!

Just received information that they've got a 7 speed cvt instead of auto tranny?

What do you reckon?
I have no idea about the 7 speed cvt

well...
see if u can sell it and get another one.
cos teh CVT does not let u go more than 4500rpm or 5000rpm i think.

i dont know much about the 7 speed CVT.

Well I seem to have a problem, I can't stop modding my Hondas!!! I bought the Fit as my daily driver/business car, because I have fully built my Civic SiR with turbo, (just ordered the s300 from Hondata...yey!). So the Fit was to simply chill......but....I find that the darn L13 CVT has potential!! I have since installed Skunk2 lowering springs, rims etc. It looks pretty cool actually.

The L15 engine swap thing fell through......on another note, I kinda like the CVT....(don't lynch me ...)

Anyway, I would like to get a bit more HP, I run Toluiene in the car, and it runs pretty good. But should I do Intake and exoust??

yeah get some intake from T1R and headers and exhaust system, with a bigger TB or get it PnPed, and also get the RevIgnite from TM works and u will be good to go! these are very good bolt ons which would help increase some power and if u have cash to burn i think the Weapon R intake manifold will do really great!
good luck! and enjoy! just be careful not to blow ur CVTtranny cos they are hell of expensive to maintain

do u mean WR air intake or Intake MANIFOLD? if u asking about the WR manifold then NO, i have not tried it but from wat sugaphreak told me it works pretty well! increase in torque. but some slight tune up need to be done i guess.
i am lookin forward for the WR intake manifold to go with my T1R kit, just waitin for the full reviews and dynos from the other members here. and ofcourse waiting for some cash!!
