Why is Honda doing this!! Why can't it be simple like the good ol days. f*** close loop.
under close loop, the ECU is altering the injector pulses to seek 14.1, emanage has no control of it. Emanage is stupidly sending out pulses regardless of what state the ECU is under.

i have read almost 60% of all the threads too.

how about running a stand alone ecu? is that a possibility?

Honda is doing it because it makes their cars run better and more efficiently in stock form. They don't care a bit about the aftermarket.

A standalone is actually a really good idea, but I'm not sure I could tune that myself. Theres about 4 metric asstons of maps involved in a standalone. Battery offsets, cold start tables, startup enrichment, shutdown decay values, etc. It certainly would solve all of our problems, though.

That's a good question. It would be one helluva job, now that I think of it, because the gauges are all driven off of the stock ECU.

I really wish Hondata would come up with a reflash service. Or something like the kpro management for our line of motors.

Hence the need for K swap

investing in the l15 is a sunk cost

No, it's short for feedback manager. The only websites that refer to it are in Japanese. Crap.

Solution?

Ok guys, today I got tired of the bucking and stalling so I jacked up the car in this cold as* weather, pulled out the primary O2 sensor, and cleaned it... With a toothbrush.

I was desperate. But, after an hour of lying on the cold, wet, ground, I have 1 very, very dirty toothbrush. And a working car!!

I just toothbrushed the hell out of that thing until it looked metallic on the end (it was BLACK when I pulled it out), and screwed it back in. Viola! I haven't had a single stall and the CEL hasn't come back on since I did this. Looks like I bought some time at least.

Now, here's the twist in this tale.. When I pulled off the oxygen sensor, it had FOUR WIRES. For those of you who don't know, wideband sensors (which every documentation I can find states that the Fit has) have FIVE wires. There are no 4 wire wideband oxygen sensors.

The plot thickens, but it looks like I may be able to use this ESC1 after all.

WOW! Thats awesome news! You're seriously my hero man!

I gotta clean my O2 sensor too, i'll do it tomorrow I think. I have the P2A00 CEL too and my guess is that my O2 sensor is probably just as dirty if not worse than yours.

And hearing that we can possibly use the ESC1 is wonderful news!

The Fit probably has a variant of an ultra-lean burn mode during low throttle operation. I say let the L15 do its job being a super efficient motor. Let's not ruin that and work on a platform that is not so meant for fuel economy.

Yeah, lean-burn at partial throttle in vacuum is great for fuel economy.

Lean-burn at partial throttle in boost = BOOM.

Going to class this morn. I'll let you know if I manage to get it pissed off again.

I took mine out today and it was black and covered in soot.... I brushed it as best I could and then reinstalled it. I reset the ECU and about 20 mins into a drive it came back on, same code P2A00.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but did anyone ever find out if there is a cheaper alternative that actually works? $175+ on a O2 sensor is pretty rough.

I'm needing to test a new one against my current one and see if the car gets better mileage, it's running a bit too rich.
