My Spoon Rad Cap :(

Shoot, my spoon radiator cap has been good for about a year or so, and now the thick black laminated part is coming off of the metal on the cap Why would this happen. Its genuine spoon . . .

Any fix? The part is only lifting off from the edge on the left side of the cap.

lol get used to it, spoon parts really arent as good as everyone makes them out to be, especially the "dress up parts"

The red cap, filler cap, shift knob, the stickers all fall off. The filter makes less power, etc. The brakes are one of the few things that actually work (though overkill for 80% of people who use them)

lol it looks as if mine half of the sticker is coming off, i can see that the left side edges are coming off and under the spoon word with the japanese letters the thing is not sticking under there no more.

lol wonder what i can do, since it is a 1.3 rather then the stock 1.0

superglue... nope, heatgun... nope. wonder what would work

happy my oil cap/duracon shift knob sticker hasnt have their stuff come off. knock on wood. spoon stuff is $$

Epoxy <3

The only thing you need in life, is some heat resistant epoxy from any hobby, automotive, or hardware store.

Lather it on, then when done, sand it down, THEN sand it with super high grit sand paper to polish it out, then, do it some more, then wax it <3

you do know that im talking about a radiator cap, not stickers on the outside of a car. the emblem pieces that are on the shift knob, radiator cap, etc.

This is normal for Spoon stuffs.
That's why I got Mugen.
You can use some silicone glue that you can get from Pepboys.

Yes, the epoxy would go under AND over the sticker. Thick layer on top, and sand down to a smooth finish, make sure you have polishing sand paper to do the final bit.

YouTube - ResinObsession.com Sanding Resin

An example of resin/epoxy sanding.

Very durable, and it's what people like me like doing to things that wont stay down. If epoxy can't hold it down... nothing can =D .

NOTE: maybe welding it on would help, but the sticker would most likely burn away

edit: don't forget, the epoxy/resin has to be clear <3

^^^ I might need to try that. The epoxy thing seems like too much work for such a small peice of dress up. Mine came off after three months.
