Would chicken-scratch on a diner napkin count as blueprints? LOL The exhaust I saw was on a 41 series 62 coupe and it was in The Rodders Journal. The deeper into the idea I dug the harder it got, relocating the mechanical fuel pump, navigating around the water pump inlet and the steering box etc, etc, etc.... I have the car, but getting it to you would be a challenge to say the least. Kyler if I can get my hands on some plans for the header, I'll e-mail it to you.

wouldn't hold your breath on that. lol going to log/tune it and see how much the fuel demands go up to see % gain in airflow then run at the track and see if mph goes up. don't feel like paying $50 bucks to dyno it. but who knows. we'll see.

longer runners=more tq if properly sized. and a low degree angle merge collector helps with exhaust scavenging to help increase volumetric efficency which ultimately= more power.

What would be nice is doing something like the weapon-r race header having the cat welded to the headers

basically the runners will go up then back down to gain extra runner length in a smaller package. short runners are a poor comprimise of easy packaging.

Weapon*R deletes the cat.

I'd like to just run a straight pipe from the collector on a high flow header out the back.

But if this works out and makes some good TQ then +rep for you...

And, +rep for starting a project like this!

thanks for the rep. and whats a cat?

theres no way I can get away with a 35" runner and 13" collector and keep a cat. well at least near factory location.

your progress looks really good. have you tried to test fit the piece yet?

is there some equation you are using to figure out the lengths and piping size?

working solely off measuring right now, once I have the 4 runners 1/2 way done I'll tear the stock stuff off and modify it as necessary. right now it should just reach to the heatshield roughly(still have ~15" more runner to play with) I'll get the collector ready so all I have to do is break the tacks and work the angles to fit.

the formulas/calculator is here HEADERDESIGN.COM - Unlock Your Engine's Potential
