i remember someone said there is a Colder spark plug we (boosted guys) can run and increase spark and HP....which one was it and where can i get it?

I am using the NKG Iridium IX BKR7EIX plugs, NGK part number 2667. but ya, those other plugs are super cheap... but Ben said that they ran better in his car than the Iridium ones did. I just haven't been able to find them but I may try to get them online.
My car runs fine with the Iridium plugs tho, and I made 170whp on a Dynojet at 5.8psi. I've since then increased the boost to 8.5psi and I am not having any issues besides running rich in this cold a$$ weather!

ngk coppers work great. just need to change them sooner than normal (I usually changed them ever 10-15k miles) R5672A-8 and bkr7e-11 work well. the R5672A-8 are two or three steps colder. a little much if you ask me??? you can also find them for ~$1.99 a plug at most checker's, o'rileys, shucks, ect...

I don't think the heat range is 11. I think it is 7. The part number of the 11s is 6988 and the ones I am running are 2667.
I could be wrong tho, that is just what it showed on my reciept.. I couldn't find the actual box for my plugs. All my reciept said was QTY 1 - NGK Iridium 2667 - for SR20DET... but the shop I bought it from could be wrong as they aren't as organized as one would like.
From what I could gather, the 2667s are similar to the stock RSX Type-S plugs, as my friend with a boosted RSX is using the 2668s which is one step colder that what I have.
What is the stock heat range? 6? I know the Denso heat range on the stock Fit is 20, and the RSX is 22. So one would assume that Denso 20 = NGK 6, and Denso 22 = NGK 7?

7 is the heat range. the -11 stands for the gapping of the plug. there pre gapped to .032 I believe. and I have no clue on the denso heat ranges. but yeah Id assume its 6 or 5 stock.
edit: checked denso's cross reference chart. 22 is 7 in ngk and 20 is 6 in ngk.

and if you don't want to pay for iridium prices. you can just knock off the ix on the part number and get plain coppers. bkr7e-11 ngk part number 1283. personally I feel iridium is a waste of money on a turbo car.

This is a great thread! I went to autozone after I installed my turbo and asked them for the stock plugs in one colder heat range. They looked at me like I was a retarded elf on stilts wearing a g-string.
Personally, I'm gonna get the Iridiums. Turbo or no, there's no way I'm changing spark plugs every 10,000 miles. Call me lazy, but I'll pay for the better technology.

no usefull info here, but why add another variable for failure to the mix? i'd go tried and true and run more boost to compensate for more power if thats what your going for.

Finally got a set of the NGK V-Power Racing plugs.. the cheap copper ones.
Gonna throw them in soon and will let you guys know if I can see any difference between the Iridium IX plugs and the V-Power Racing ones.
