if you know what specs you want for the cam you can can your existing cam to a shop for a cam regrind. its cheaper because the shop would not have to cut a new cam from scratch but you limited in what you can do because you can't significantly change the profile.

don't mean to hijack but does honda sell oem cam blanks? (cams that don't have profiles cut into them) or is that just limited to domestics.

I doubt Honda would sell blanks, but if they did that would be pretty awesome.

i've never heard of such a thing from a car manufactuer i've heard of cam companies doing so but they typically hold on to them so you use there services.

GM (maybe even ford and chrylser) sells cam blanks for there motors (ecotec, LSX, ect...) through its performance part division. they also sell forged rod and race ported cylinder heads among other things. you would be surprised to see what gm does with those things.

so with the l15. the most cost effective way would be a cam grind.

Yes we need cams for these cars. Brian crower is great well known cams for the evo community. Hmm it seams to me that there is no major comapny yet for these cars for engine mods yet. If some one could start producing these parts for a good price it seems that they would make bank.
