the fit has plenty of get-up from 0-10 mph because of it's gearing, but the whole deal with a turbo is that you can launch in boost, delivering the power immediately. and the turbo setup makes about 50ftlb more torque than the jrsc in the same stage.

Lies. I've built tons of turbo honda's. Vtec is where the power is at baby All vtec is, is a higher lift cam lobe that the lifters switch to when it is engaged.

This is where turbo size really comes into play. On most of these kits, you will see full boost around 2.5-3.5k depending on boost level, and turbo. Most of the turbo cars I've built or helped build, don't reach full boost till around 6800-7k, but they usually rev to 10.2k That and they're strictly straight line cars. The fit has always been a road race car to me.

They don't know what they're talking about is what it comes down to. Turbo's are made to make power high in the powerband. Too much torque just leads to no traction anyway.

proof?

and we have not even seen the highest stage of tune yet on the jrsc.

nor have we even seen a you-tune kit, which would be more indicative of what each kit is capable of, considering tuning is pretty much neccesary with any turbo.

Good info in this thread. Im kinda in the same boat as the OP. Although im also considering staying NA and just getting some basic boltons. I belive with the mishimoto intake, full exhaust, and headers it would get the AT Fit to around 115whp. A big jump from the 89whp we get stock.
But boost is very tempting. I would not do the HKS turbo for a AT, id go with the KWSC if i ever decide to run boost. If i had a MT though, id get the T1R turbo kit forsure. From what i know T1R has no plans of making a AT Turbo Kit for the GD3

jdmchris is running the kswc w/ 8psi hondata @ 145~whp 125~ tq

bluecell is running the t1r @ 8psi 180~whp 175~ tq

we have not even seen the highest stage of tune yet on the t1r.

the dyno sheets are up, i'm sure you've read the threads with them there, if not, you can find the search button as easily as I can

Don't get me wrong, the jrsc is nice, but well...... The only numbers I've been impressed with is their track car. While turning a 90whp machine to a 140-160whp machine is nothing to laugh at, it is still IMO not going to feel very fast. The t1r kit is just better power wise. Maybe if DD is a huge concern then the JRSC may be for you, but $4k for 50whp? No thanks. I'm just disappointed in the overall lack of potential in this motor. Blame honda for the least potential head they've ever made.

i'm feeling the T1R kit, it comes with everything and the emanage system is a big plus...all you really need is an oil cooler, turbo timer, and couple of other stuff

What about BlueCell, he has a Fit Turbo – perhaps, you can solicit for first-hand information about driving a turbo-charged Fit?

yeah and tuning. its not plug and play like the kwsc. thats more so the nature of a turbo set up and not really t1r's fault.

thanks for clarifying your hp numbers chris.

d has been owned.

it's still just a 3 psi and 35hp, 50 lbs ft different, for about the same amount of money spent!

keeping to the same ratio, at 10 psi the t1r kit will be making nearly 210 whp and 200 lbft tq if not more, while the SC will be making 190hp(or 160, as we never know with the way base kit turned out) and 155lbft tq.

tuning is a good thing, anyways. I'd rather have my car very accurately tuned specifically to my car than go with a base mapping that WORKS for all supercharged fits.
