More pleasant motor swap than K20
#21
Maybe someone needs to look into possible head swaps onto the L15, since the K requires notching the frame rails. Is there a slight possibility that a k series head would bolt up the the L25 block with minor (or major modifications?)

the l25? i wish we had an l25! i'm pretty sure the head doesn't bolt up from any k series. its either fi or kswap my friend. I'd say an r swap would be nice, but its going to give you the same results as fi, just n/a and just as expensive as the k swap. and good luck finding a used r18.

the L20 is of course made up, but I like 2 liter motors, they're a nice size.

And to the person who is crying about older motors in newer cars. It's happening now. It has been going on for awhile. And it will continue to happen. It is a stupid law, and I have yet to see someone who has gotten a ticket for it.

Notching "A" frame rail. Not both. And it is a small notch at that. Seriously, people removing their crash bars for FMIC or w/e else, are going to do far more damage to their cars in an accident. If you're that worried about it, you can always do some welding. It's not that serious people. Some people read too much of some of the uninformed posters in here, and assume it's truth.
That may not be a big deal to you, but to some people the peace of mind that comes from having your stock frame in tact is worth it. Until you have crash test data to prove that it is safe to cut up your vehicles subframe then I'll stick with my L15

Go right on ahead. There is a reason they make welders. Reinforce it. I'm just sick and tired of hearing people cry about it all the damn time. Taking your crash bar off the front of your car is far worse than this small notch.
