Need an exhaust that sounds close to stock at low RPM

Heh, so my parents are mad because I'm spending too much money on my car. I still have a lot saved up in the bank though and I really want to get some power gains on my car. I saw some dyno figures that put the gain on an axle-back exhaust at ~5whp @4500rpm (A-Spec) which is pretty damn good.

My question is, is there a good exhaust out there that won't sound much different than stock from about 0-2500rpm, but will net me a decent power gain for under $300? Or am I just better off getting an intake..

From what I hear, the Tanabe Touring Medallion Axleback, is pretty quiet. That's the exhaust I plan on getting when I have the funds. Here's a youtube video of it YouTube - Honda Fit Tanabe Tourning Medallion

if you want quiet go medallion. for the best of both worlds, go skunk2. decent gains all around, and with the silencer, its nearly stock. take it off and it sounds deep, mean, and LOUD, kinda like my mom...
