Megan Test-pipe?

Anyone running a Megan cat delete pipe? Where did you get it from and how much? Do you need to run a O2 simulator to prevent a cel?

Megan doesnt make a cat-delete that I know of. Only company that makes one is T1R and DME.
Megan's is a highflow cat/downpipe.

From what Ive read, yes you need a o2 sim. Or do what I did, spark plug non fouler and drill out the middle.

Smile Cat Delete

Yeah Megan makes a cat delete pipe or called a downpipe. You can find it through iptuning.com and many others. They also make a sensor to fix any cel light issues. The whole package is around 175 downpipe plus around 20 bucks for the O2 simulator.
Deleting any cat will add increase power and exhaust volume. Pretty easy install with two bolts connecting to the header n two bolts to the b pipe. You might have some smog issues but it is easy enough to put on and pull off at your leasure. Hope this helps.

Megan does make a cat delete: eBay Motors: Megan Performance Exhaust Downpipe Honda Fit 06 07 2006 (item 220160219958 end time Oct-20-07 15:06:49 PDT)

It looks like a cat for visual inspection purposes but is just a resonator. Is anyone running one of these?

This is a cat delete/test pipe. No resonator or high flow.
Id just call that a downpipe.

Smile Downpipe

That's exactly what it is..."Downpipe aka Test Pipe aka Cat Delete Pipe". I think I got em all. Hope this helps.
Not running one currently but plan on it. They also make two kinds of O2 Sims for the car. One is the regular O2 Sim and another would be the Titanium O2 Sim.

Peace,

I ran the megan unit for a few miles...and I can say it adds a lot of power. the only problem I had was I wasn't using an exhaust because I wanted it to be silent causing the typical honda buzzing sound which is all the exhaust getting bottle necked into the stock muffler.

2nd little problem is if you put the o2 simylater the o2 sensor gets real close to a bolt sticking out of the chassie. a dremel took care of that for me.

Can someone comment on what the megan downpipe does to the
powerband on an stock A/T fit? or with or without headers.

I'm worried I may loose to much lowend power.
I have the t1r headers on order, debating weather or not
to install the megan downpipe with it.

actually, i sold it already to somebody on the forum, and he has it up for sale.

My Fit is an Auto fit, and it makes the car fly through the RPM.

When you said your fit was torqueless with the downpipe and midpipe,
was it worse on torque then a stock A/T fit?

thanks for your help!

Finally got a my Megan downpipe/testpipe in earlier this week and installed it today. Bolted up to my Megan B-pipe and stock header very easily. I used a O2 sim I found on Ebay for about $10. At idle it's not very loud. Good low rumble. above 3k look out. With my Megan mid pipe and Tanabe axle back this thing is loud. Good power gain and increased throttle response. All I've got left for my full exhaust is the header. Just can't make up my mind yet.

Here are some pics of the two pipes for comparrison:

Smile Question

Nice downpipe! Quick question, is it crazy loud..like your now on a cops radar. I have the Megan Header, Aspec CAI n da Megan Axle back n it's not so bad....what I mean is that I can control the exhaust when I need too. Just don't want to end up with a cop behind me at a light and it's toooo loud? Thx

I can control the noise level with the throttle somewhat, but over 3000 rpms in 1st-3rd and it's loud. If I was next to a cop at a stop light, I wouldn't give it too much gas or they would notice. On the highway in 5th it's not bad at all. If you look in the stock cat it's no wonder the car is so quiet. The cat is like a very restrictive muffler. Hopefully an aftermarket header won't make it any louder.

Smile Thx

Thanks for the info...did you have to cut the bolt hanging out to fit the O2 sensor with the O2 Sim? Thx again.

My header screams at 4,800 RPMS...fyi. It will be louder.

Plenty of room for the O2 sim I got on Ebay. No cutting.

I think the T1R would be better because you can probably put the factory heatshield over it, and be discreet.
Can someone tell us what diameter the t1r is???
I hear the megan is 2.25"
