hey, for those of you who have installed this, did you need to get a new donut gasket / manifold gasket?

my car is relatively new so I should be ok re-using the manifold gasket, but someone mentioned the donut gasket (the one going from the header to down pipe) doesnt fit.

did anyone else need to buy any additional parts to get this installed?

thanks!

i bought a donut gasket but didn't end up needing it. I installed mine about 1.5 months after i bought my car and reused the mani gasket. donut gasket fits perfect!

As stated, just reuse the gaskets from the original header.

I'm still jealous of all of you who got to pick it up for $195. I paid over $300 the first month or so it came out lol.

With all the promoting you did for them I think they should refund you the 300 bucks (hint hint WR are you reading)

Better yet give the man a intake manifold.

i would get the intake manifold if i could run the fuel computer alone. i dont know of anyone who tunes in my immediate area, and i dont really want to spend an extra 200 to have the 450 piece of aluminum work like it should.

What do you mean? You'll always need a tune with a new intake manifold, especially if you're already running some kind of intake and exhaust. It's not Weapon*R specific that you need a tune.

i heard that WR had a $50 fuel computer that would adjust spray so it wouldnt run lean, doing the effective work that a tune would be doing for this mod.

I have a new Rev2 one sitting in a box, hopefully installing it this weekend. Sounds like they have that "low EGR flow" CEL figured out.

So I installed the street header after much trouble getting those damn bolts off the stock header. Here's a quick question, how can you tell if the header is leaking? Is there a sound to be listening for? I want to make sure I installed this correctly w/o any leaks.

they say there will be a "plastic sack" sound. did you get the gasket in there? and are all the bolts tight?

You should be able to hear a raspy kinda sound if you stick your head in the engine bay while it's running.

Alright after driving around tonight, I could definitely hear a hissing sound every time I press on the throttle. Also, when in P and the car is idling, i can hear intermittent hisses coming from the car. The header is tight against the engine, so I think the first place to look would be the donut gasket between the downpipe and header... the stock one that I took off the stock header was slipping and kept falling off the street header - me thinks it might be misaligned and not creating a proper seal.

Is there any worry to driving around with this leak? I won't have time to look into this till late tomorrow night.

No real problems I'd imagine except you might throw a CEL eventually. Make sure you check the gasket on the manifold. I reused the donut from the stock on mine as well as reused the stock one for another local install as well and it worked pretty good. I'd check both of those out, also check the o2 sensor as well and make sure it's in there nice and tight as well.

I'll be replacing the donut gasket as I don't trust the stock one I'm using due to it being too loose not fitting correctly. What should I be checking with the gasket on the manifold?
