If you have never tried a chamber style intake I highly recommend it. Get a CAI if you want to loose throttle response and have nothing but HP gains in the upper RPM range. Go for the chamber style intake if you want better throttle response/power over the entire RPM range. I have tried and tested so many intakes over the years it is sad and no matter what I have used I always ended up going back to the chamber style intake.

The Fit is no high HP sports car so loosing any drivability, acceleration or response is out of the question when it comes to modifications if you ask me. So that leaves you with one choice when it comes to intakes, chamber style. Now we all just need to cross our fingers that the work AJ Racing is doing with J’s racing on their chamber intake comes threw.

I have the Injen CAI on my AT Fit. It feels really good in the mid-high range. You do have to watch out for puddles, but mainly ones that would basically submerge your whole car in water. I have driven through a turential down pour and came out of it just fine with no problems.

Yes it is but the J’s chamber intake put’s the filter in the wheel well like a CAI. So you end up with one nice setup. The filter also looks like it sites up a bit higher then the typical CAI so HL might not be such a concern.

One other setup that should work nice is the combination of the T1R CF chamber intake and the new J’s Racing Sports Grille for the USDM fit.

I had a short ram intake then upgraded to a CAI on my sentra GXE, the short ram gave a noticeable low-end gain (felt peppier off the line) and the CAI actually hurt it off the line (peppiness lost), but i did notice how much smoother it accelerated and it did have a very slight noticeable difference in power and pull in highway driving. Personally i prefer off the line power, i would go short ram IMO.

you can get a chamber intake for $ 240 shipped,(supa-suca),but if you dont like supa suca looks on the engine bay then your choice is T1R,POWER BOX,& hopefully J's racing,i wasted my money on a short ram,2 months after i bought my sri the supa-suca chamber intake came out,i completely agree 100 % with madtownfit, chamber intake is the best intake that you can put in a small engine like our fit.

I was wanting to get another intake, the best increase in HP is about 5 for a K&N Short Ram, I have an A/T sport. And I believe the short is my only option. Any thoughts or links would be helpful.

IMHO a CAI is NOT worth it compared to a chamber style...

I don't entirly agree or disagree with that statement, I think both have benefits that will have to be weighed by the person choosing.

CAI: has excellent gains in mid and upper range power and the advantage of drawing cold air, plus the long tube acts a smaller chamber giveing you a moderate increase in thottle responce comapred to stock. Benefits long driving trips and lots of upper end RPM's.

Chamber Style: has much improved throttle responce and increased air flow resulting in overall power gains. Benefits city driving and quicker starts.

I personally have a CAI, wouldn't trade it for the world.

I'm assuming you have a manual transmission Fit? The Fujita CAI won't fit with an automatic transmission. Plus, you'll only gain about +5hp with the Fujita. Same thing with the Aspec.

IMHO I would go with the Injen CAI. I have one on my 8th gen civic and it gives great mid-high range performance and has a great sound, especially when the v-tec kicks in. With the Injen CAI, you'll gain almost +8hp in a Fit. Plus, you can convert it to an SRI in the winter time to prevent any possible occurance of hydrolock.

Is any company planning to create an icebox-type (like comptech's older ones for the integra/tsx/civic/etc.) for both manual/auto?
