My DC ported header removed for review!!!

so since im parting out my car, i had a chance to show you guys the porting i had done on it. the DC's entry ports looked similar to the OEM manifold to give you and idea, material ridge that didn't smoothen exhaust flow. you guys have heard me rant about how important it is to keep a similar to stock size primary size piping, bigger piping on header will result in a lean condition and will only get worst with a aftermarket test pipe or cat back system. so be carefull.... i think DC has done a good job on this header by keeping the primary pipes close to stock diameter....

here the pics and enjoy... cheers.

stock port entry.

DC ported entry.

DC header without porting...

on the car.

in most cars this would be true, hondata chose not to provide a reflash because the engine stock was already at the optimum A/F ratio from the factory, ive seen Fits on the dyno with opened up exhaust systems running dangerously lean at around 5500 RPMs... the guy had full megan exhaust system. so just be carefull with big exhaust systems.

The header already sold? The DC design actually looks really nice. Pretty high flowing.

1.DC's welds are better
2.the fitment is A+++
3.the 4-1 collect was made with power in mind
4.the primary pipes won't make your car run lean
5.it will be carb approved soon

im sure theres more reasons but at around a average price of 249 shipped, id pay the extra doh for the DC.

Thanks for all the insightful information bro. Btw , I'm sporting the B pipe now along with an a-spec axle back I picked up before I even had the fit haha. Sounds really mean and veryyyyy deep.. Kind of loud but I LOVE it.

I hope I'm not running lean though .. haha

you should be fine, its large primary headers that seem to cause the lean condition.

Megan Racing Honda FIT 06+ Mid Section Pipes Free Shipping

for the megan b pipe.. $229 shipped .. Best price I've seen so far

As for the DC header ..

eBay Motors: NEW DC SPORTS 4-1 Ceramic Header 07 2007 HONDA FIT @@@@ (item 120113155238 end time May-01-07 18:51:45 PDT)

$250 shipped..

only one I can find so far.

Just like what 805fitsport did , I suggest porting the header as well.

i can get the DC for 245 flat, if your in the LA area then its worth it to get it through me, i can also get the megan B pipe for around 210... you can port your own header if your are skilled with a high speed drill and some grinding stones... at your own risk though.

ill take some better pics when i get home but its pretty much removing and smoothening material from the entry holes on the flange, allows for smooth exhaust flow

the car that was on the dyno was running 91 oct, its not the octane really its the amount of fuel being used. i know the guy pretty well, hes going to try using a sacf to fix the lean condition his car is experiancing,... ill ask for his plot and see if i can scan it in.
