Jazz GD1 @ 180km/h possible??
Hello guys,
Currently driving a GD1 with intake mod, and loving it for it`s power with it`s little engine. Was wondering is it possible to increase it`s average speed of 160 km/hr - 180km/hr, without going the T.C route? Maybe thats not possible as I may need those extra horses to acheive that, or maybe I`m wrong... So is there any other other alternatives like flywheel, final-drive, cams, etc? Sorry to ask so many questions here...
Thanks for all the valuable advise in advances!

You should hit 180km. My City 1.3L auto hit's 180km but from 160-180 very slow. Go to YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. and search for Honda City Top Speed.

Yes, Kimo, I ever hit almost to 175+km, but thats provided going downhill, or little wind conditions on level roads, so I quote my averaged about 160+ km constant...
Wondered if lightened flywheel and pulley will help to increase the top speed? Anyone care to advise??

Light flywheel and pulley will help.

You think anything else needed? As far as I can think of, the lighter the better rite, eg, lighten the car itself too... but what about the gearings? Is there any final drive thingy that will improve top speed, tho most people changed for acceleration power( 0-60mph dash ).
As for the above mods( lighten flywheel & pulley ) aren`t power adders, basically unload the engine to free out some power... but do we need to pump in some more extra horses to gain more speed with the same gear ratios?? A little confused!!

I do not try with a light flywheel. It“s the opossite effect: Better acceleration, lower top speed (less inertia)
Less weight on car, will improve acceleration, but nothing to do with top speed (it“s an aerodynamics vs. power affair)

Wandulus,
So you meant have to add more horses/torque to gain speed , which makes sense rite?? Just like those cars with six gearings, you also need gears to do the trick too... correct me if I`m wrong please!!

I think I`ve got the picture, Thanks!

Try header, as it will free up some hp. If you need more top speed, then you need more power like turbo, nos, sc, p&p

Sounds good! What wheels and rubber you`re on to acheived that?

The same with me. How come after 160 gets very slow even if you have mods.

I have Hotbits header, Light Pulley, Bored TB, No CAT, with all that it didn't help much to hit 180 faster, maybe because my car is auto and 1.3L.

I have a stock GD1 Jazz 1.4L CVT and have done 165km/h but then I was almost out off road and had to hit the brakes
But I could probably have gone faster since it was only around 5000rpm...
This is the longest straight (and wide enough road) we have in my area so I dont think I ever is going to get above 170km/h around here...
Think I have to go to Sweeden in the summer to test a higher speed on a speed track
I liked how steady it felt above 120km/t, my work car a Toyota Yaris Verso is very unstable over 115km/t and takes a lot longer time to reach that speed on the same road.
