Thumbs up Aspec Intake Exhaust

Well, I picked up my intake/axle back exhaust from Aspec yesterday, and put them on this morning. Amazingly easy-2 bolt, 2 biscuit exhaust, 2 bolts and a few hoseclamps on the intake, and that was it! 30-40 minutes for both. Initial impressions: Not too loud with windows up (Doesn't bother my wife who hated the Bassani I put on her 86 Prelude Si years ago-it kept setting off car alarms in parking garages), nice sound with windows open, slightly quicker reving, very subtle and short intake snort when shifting, no droning on freeway, sounds great above about 3500. Overall, seems well made, looks great, perfect fit (sorry couldn't resist) and seems well worth the $300 total investment, especially compared to some of the $500+ axle backs out there...I'd give it a solid "A"

actually, I don't think the axle back is loud at all unless you really get on the pedal. I love the sound it puts out. And you're right about the highway/freeway droning sound. You get none of that.

I just don't get why the black paint was painted on the piping. Mine flaked off after a month or so. It actually looks better without the paint on the pipe.. hehe

Unless you spend your time under the car instead of behind the wheels, I wouldn't worry about it.

It actually looks better without the paint on it.. =)
