How is that so... aren't eh 16" Konig heliums far from the 11lbs the 15" heliums are? Stock rims weight est: 15-16lbs. 16" Konig Heliums weight 16.4lbs. Which is why I'm kind of torn on the heliums...

I know somebody already posted the weight of the Australian Fit's stock front seat weight (w/o airbags, about 35 lbs?), does anybody have a measurement of the USDM stock front seat weight? Or a guess? Thanks..

USDM drivers seat and airbag is 43.5 pounds without mounting bolts, without the seat belt, and without the seat position sensor (all of which moved to the replacement seat so it's not a change in vehicle weight and won't be counted as saved weight).

i have the fidanza lightened flywheel on my fit and love it. 10lbs lighter than the stock flywheel. you SHOULD be able to learn to drive it in a couple days...the only problem i had with my flywheel after install was the first 2 days, after that i learned it pretty well...then about a week ago i was driving around my dads 400hp 91 mustang, once i got into my car i had a little bit of trouble for a couple minutes. you can get used to it. i drive my fit at least 30 miles a day all city. washington dc, np. i wouldn't recommend swapping out your stock flywheel for a lightened one if youre not very good at MT to begin with. its also an expensive job to get done...320 for the flywheel and several hours of labor.

stock flywheel: 17lbs
fidanza lightened flywheel: 7lbs.

Light weight wheels are probably the only light weight mod that you can get that will "feel" right off the bat. 16lbs, 30lbs. isn't that much in relation to the whole car. Now if you remove 100lbs or more then you are going to "feel" a difference. But there is not point in doing that unless you want to sacrifice daily usage. in order to do that you are going to have to remove the rear seats and some interior paneling, or spend hundreds of dollars on cf parts. for a street car, wheels and a cf hood and/or cf rear hatch is probably the most you can do unless you want to loose some daily usage out of your fit. Now if you where building a race car i would say otherwise but few if anybody on these boards are making there fits track only cars.

I posted this in another thread, but figured it may be helpful here as well.

Here is the weight reduction I achieved on my car:

*Removed & weighed several rear interior components, including:
-rear wiper assembly - 2.3
-rear child seat tether covers - 0.1
-rear spare tire cover - 6.2
-rear seat strikers - 1.1
-rear seatbelt assemblies (left, right, middle) - 9.5
-rear seatbelt buckles - 1.3
-rear left & right seat w/ bolts - 64.6
-spare tire & jack - 24.3
-Spoon axleback weight savings - 3.5 [stock 10.5 minus Spoon 7.0]
-Recaro SPG + Nagisa Auto weight savings - 20.5 [stock 43.5 minus bucket & slider 23]
-Braille B14115 weight savings - 9.5 [stock~21 minus Braille 11.5]

Total: 142.9 lbs

Theoretically, since last time I weighed my car it was 2550 with me, 1/4 tank, no spare and jack, 9.5 lb Enkei RPF1 w/ Falken Azenis...
2550
- 150 (me)
- 118.6 (since spare & jack already counted)
-----------
2281.4 (about?)

__________
Additional weights of trim I did not remove:

rear left lower panel - 3.4
rear right lower panel - 3.0
rear hatch panel - 1.0

When I weigh my car next time I go to the shop, I will post the actual figures here.

Under the carpet of both front seats is a very thick pad, almost like firewall mat that probably weighed a couple of pounds. I removed the driver side mat due to mildew from a previous water leak. Noise did not increase noticeably and I hate noise.

My Jazz is supposed to weigh 2175lbs as stock.

I havent had it on the scales yet but will to see what the real weight is. I purposely chose a base spec here in the UK. There is no AC, height adjustable seat, side airbags etc etc

The easiest and most cost effective weight saving will be wheels and tyres. It retains all the functionality of the car. Anybody ever fitted light weight wheels and tyres to their mountain bike and felt the difference?

what do you think your cage will weigh? did you weight your fit before the cage but when it was fully stripped?

Yes I did weigh it. 2258lbs is my total weight without driver. (certified CAT scale) This was also before I removed a few more things like abs system, airbag computer and wiring, the 1 air bag remaining in the dash (passenger side), the sound deadening adheared to the floor, and I got lighter wider wheels sense then oh and lighter seats. My last pair of seats weighed 25 lbs each, these new ones weigh 9lbs each. i also removed all factory seat belts and bolts etc. basically the inside of my car is nothing more than 2 seats, harnesses and of course the dash and wheel.

when i go to get my car soon after the caging, they will re weigh it to take in the latest weight changes listed above. The estimated the cage weighing 60 lbs ish.

Ill keep you guys updated
