I think leonine used the stock tie downs on his Braille battery. Leo can you chime in on this?

stock battery tie down but the jhooks are too big. Braille sent me 6" j-hooks but you can get them at your local auto parts store.

If your interested in using the stock battery tie down, one could just cut off the "J" part of the hook (and rebend the "J" with vice grips? I did! One could also buy 2 one inch long pipes/tubes that fits over the "J" hook thread. Mount the "J" hook to the tray. Put the tie bar on. Put the above 1" tubes on the "J" bar over the treads and then put the 10mm nut on.

Sounds good guys. I'm definitely getting one of those Dekas as soon as it warms up. Keep me posted on the status of yours though.

Update - Got the battery this morning but the posts on the battery look different from the stock battery in my car.

Do I need to get an adapter or conversion so that I can connect the battery terminals to the posts? Where can I get them?

Not terrible at all. I just have to locate an adapter. If you look at the link I posted the orginal poster has some sort of brass adapter that screws right in.

I think I found something that'll work!

Found this pic at sojdm.com

Maybe they can help.

You might want to check out their Braille 6" J hook tie downs too. They're pretty cheap...

Wave - you should be able to locate those terminal posts at most local auto parts stores. If not you can order them.

Yes, they have tem as an accesory or option for like $13 (dont remember well) in the odissey ones, so they must be pretty common.

I will buy the battery myself but will wait until the factory one dies (in about a year or so).

Passenger side rear seat weighs in at 28 Lbs.
Drivers side rear seat weighs in at 37.6 Lbs.
Weights include headrests.
So there's 65.6 Lbs if you don't plan on having more than 1 passenger.
Plus the 4 bolts so might as well say 66 Lbs.
If you take out the seat belts as well you may manage to bring that up to close to an even 70 Lbs.
Considering the 3rd seat belt in the roof by the hatch possibly a few pounds there that go unused. We'll see.

There's a start.

EDITED the original post. Thanks!

Let's keep those weights coming in people. Anyway we can take weight of the front end would be the most beneficial.

Missed that and I read thru from page 1 looking to see if anyone posted it yet before posting it. Must have been having an oldtimers moment.

Pulled the seats out today and thought it was a first on the weight.

i'm going to swap in the Braille battery that's in my AE86 to the Fit because the rolla doesn't get driven much. I hooked up the trickle charger but I just find it more practical in a car being driven more often. the honda battery is still tiny anyways.
