Help with motor mount

Hi all.My 09 fit has way too much idle vibration
Mechanic says it's likely this passenger side mount.
A can you tell me if it looks sunken or too low?

... I insert pic but it won't show up. Help.

Usually, the LF trans mount fails first.

Try posting your pic on a hosting site such as Photobucket.

Can't tell from that angle, sorry.

The rubber center of the trans mount has 'legs' that crack and allow the drivetrain to 'fall'. After a while, the metal center and the metal edge contact, and knock or clunk.

Looks like this:

Where can the mechanic look to examine this part?
Would I be able to take pic?
Thanks.

Use jack to lift the engine about 1/8" under pan to remove weight from the mount
If vibration lessens the mount is bad.
This is hydraulic type mount with the motor bracket is attached to the stud which is attached to membrane with thick fluid (like a gear oil) above and below it
When membrane completely tears the mount sinks down. Not sure about "partial failure" like small cracks in membrane.
What typically happens, the rubber parts are getting stiff (especially during winter) and fails to isolate vibration from the body

Actually, loose plugs are a common issue. You are lucky they didn't blow out of the cylinder head!

Regards inspecting the part... You could look up from underneath, might have to use a mirror on a stick (aka, Inspection Mirror) to see.

doctor j, I didn't know Fits used hydraulic dampers. Our '99 Acura TL did.

If you have access to the tools, this is an easy part to replace yourself. Just make sure you use a block of wood between the jack and the oil pan. I replaced all 3 of mine and that was the easiest to get to.
