Fuel Pump

Over the last couple of months I have had several occasions where my fit will half start, but then just keep turning over without starting. The battery clearly isnt dead, it turns fine, but to me it seems like it isnt getting any fuel. Usually I cycle the key on and off a couple of times and it starts up, but that didn't work this morning.

I noticed, in my twenty minutes of trying, that the fuel pump seems to studder instead of make a whirring electric motor sound, leading me to believe that the fuel pump is not working.

So the question is how do I get to it? I know that the tank is under the front seat, but is it accessible from the top, or does the whole tank have to be dropped?

Thanks for your advice and input!

You really need to download the manual:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...available.html

At highlevel, you will have to
1 - relieve fuel pressure , disconnect battery
2 - remove center console
3 - remove the fuel pump from the tank

According to the manual, you will also need a new gasket that goes around the fuel sending unit.

Too many steps to describe via words. Sorry !
