Windshieldwiper noise
#5
I got a Bosch 24" for the drivers side, 16" would be too long (would hit windshield trim) for the passenger (this wiper's mounting point is off centre anyhow, check and you will see) so it will be 15" on the passenger side, which is about 1/2" shorter on the end toward the driver. The local Napa jobber did not have this in stock, so I ordered it.
They (Napa) were surprised that I wished to replace them.
I have used Robert Bosch wipers for years without problems. From reading, PIAA would be good too (forum sponsor Tire Rack sells these), but no local dealer. Anco are also fine, they are the OEM maker for US Toyotas if memory serves.

Trico makes the teflon blades. I bought mine at the local Advance Auto Parts. It takes a 24" and a 16"... though I think a 15" would fit better. Even Honda seems to know that the 16" is too big, since they specifically notched the window trim for the blade to sweep across it.

If its a light mist they will make the rubbing noise. A couple of things you can try is to 1 clean the windshield with a razor blade and foam style window cleaner. It may still have stuff on it from manufacturing. Also clean the rubber blades with a cloth impregnated with rubbing alcohol. This may alleviate your problems...

I've had the same problem since I bought my Fit in April. The dealer has waxed my windshield, replaced the blades, replaced the wiper motor, and consulted with a "glass guy" and nothing has helped so far. I took my Fit in about two weeks ago, and I am waiting for my dealer to contact Honda to see what they suggest. The wipers work fine, but the noise is extremely annoying. Please let me know if you get yours fixed so I can tell my dealer what to do.

I am having the same problem. It is only happening on the passenger blade. I am going to try the cleaning, Wax, and alcohol tomorrow. I may have to upgrade the blades. When I replace the blades I usually upgrade but I would like to use the factory blades as long as possible. After all I did pay for them.

I got some Ancos today . . .
I went to Autozone and said I wanted new wipers on my Fit. Their listing had some by Botsch but they were not in stock. So I told the guy helping me it needed a 24" and 15".
He recommended Ancos which they had a promotion on. $16.98 before tax and then had a mail-in rebate for a $10 gift card. What a deal. He even put them on for me. While he was installing them he said he was a Honda fan and really liked the Fit and the way it looked.
These Ancos look more like regular wiper blades. I always thought the original ones were too fat and blocky.

I had a noise problem with my wiper blades and solved it by sliding the wiper blade out and reversing it.
On the wiper blades you'll see the words HONDA in braille, My wiper would "hop" and make a staggered rubbing noise right at the spot on the wiper blade where it said HONDA. The noise/hop would only occur when the blade was going up.
After reversing the blade, there is no more noise. Hope this helps...
