ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!

It would work to keep them from rusting, but might create a new problem - like stopping!!

is it even rust?
I live in Seattle washington and I know most cars have this look on the stock rotors. It does it on my RSX

If your really worried about it all you can do is by new rotors or have your stockies taken off and cleaned and polished. But this is going to happen to your stock ones when ever they see water.

Ah Hah. I see.

Thanks all. Now that I drove it, it's all fine again. I guess I never noticed this phenomenon on my other cars.

You say non-stockers don't rust. Any recommendations for a brand to consider? What other performance gains might one get from non stock rotors?

Thanks in advance

Anytime you have bare steel and get it wet rust can occure. If you have a coating on the rotor except where the pads rub that will keep those areas from rusting, but may adversely affect the ability to disipate heat. Aftermarket rotors probably have a chemical conversion coating to inhibit rust in non-braking areas.

every car i have ever had, has jad the rotors go rusty if i wash the car, and dont drive it for 2 or 3 days.

shiny steel, will rust.

as soon as the brakes are put on whilst driving, they are clean again.
