Body repair for bumper scuff marks?
Right after I bought our 2009 Fit I misjudged the dip in our driveway entrance and scuffed the underside of the bumper on the passenger side. I cringe every time I look at that beautiful black paint ruined on that side!
If I take the bumper off and work on it myself would wet sanding, then hand spay paint followed by a hand clear coat spay do a good enough job or is some kind of filler going to be needed to hide the scuff marks?
As an alternative, If I take it to a body shop, I was thinking I would just take the bumper to them so the car is still drivable while waiting for the repair and maybe it will cost less that way too?
Any one else done this?
Thanks,

Thanks Black3sr, is that a sport front bumper? It looks quite a bit different than mine which has a more exposed, sloping back bottom which is visually more exposed. Here's a pix of mine and the damage:
I think next weekend I'm going to see if I can sand it down and paint it with out removing the bumper from the car. I started looking at it and removing the bumper looks complicated.. looks like there are attachments in the wheel wells as well as having to remove the fog lights, etc.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Yes mine is a Sport.
It can be done with just leaving it on the car. There is a thread on here somewhere for removing a bumper cover. Yes there are screws in the wheel well that would have to be remove besides many clips.
I did not even mask mine the second time. You may be able to mask a nice cut line where it starts to curve under.

Thanks again for the advice. I searched on this forum but couldn't find any bumper replacement instructions. I did find this pdf or installing fog lights on a Honda parts site though: (click link)
I agree though, I think I can mask the line where the bumper starts curving down under and just paint it with out removing it from the car.
