Rear of Fit stays dirty!!??!!

Hello Fellow Fit Owners

I finally got my new Fit and I love it. There is just one problem, I keep washing it and every time I turn around the back is dirty, especially the top of the rear bumper. Has anyone come up with a solution for this problem? Would a good wax job cure it? Thanks for your input.

It's just the aerodynamics of the car probably. Maybe a wing might help!

Yup, all hatches, especially USDM ones have this problem because the bumpers stick out a bit more due to regulations. My Protege 5 had the same problem...and my Fit always has a dirty bumper...even after a wash...a few hours later and its already dusty

well you'd need the JDM bumper to install the tailgate garnish properly, otherwise it will not sit flush with the bumper...

The wing on my sport just seems to make it worse. Also crap builds up within the hatch lip seal area - ughhhh!

my only advice is to keep that area waxed frequently and out of the sun as much as possible. i've seen a lot of wagons with dull paint cracking there.

That's right, the wing is definitely making matters worse.

I guess it's a way the Fit begs to take frequent baths

haha yup its a hatch thing.....the aero design just make wind/air drop from the roof line straight down. i keep a micro fiber w/ Meaguiars Speed Detailer in the passenger back seat pocket at all times
