Cleaning engine bay
Hey guys,
We had big snow storm a few weeks again and i was on the highway for a few hours. Now my engine bay is a wreck.
Is it OK to just spray it down? I noticed the owners manual recommended NOT spraying under the hood, but I've never had a problem doing it on any other cars. Is there anything i'd have to worry about messing up?

...I concur!
I concur! I also practice this technique. I spray it down with Simple Green, and let it do the work...lightly hose it off...then hit the stubborn spots a second time. If needed, I'll scrub the problem areas with a toothbrush.
I didn't think about the alternator issue though. What will the water do to it?

Yes I always spray my bay down at the self-serve car wash, no ill effects so far. I avoid directly spraying the alternator for no reason other than i've heard it's not a good idea, but i've always thought the same thing as Triskelion posted.

Looks great dude! Good Job. I sprayed my engine bay out a month or so back but didn't have time to degrease it or anything because it was to flippin cold. Now that it's warming up i can break out the hose at home and give it a better cleaning.
