Engine movement

I just bought an automatic, 2008 Honda Fit sport model. i am a 1st time newbie honda owner. Never owned one till now.

It was a salvage but supposedly only minor right front collision. Carfax verified it. Looks good but noticed one thing.

With the hood open, I had my wife hold down the brake pedal and shift from P-N-D-R.

Each time she shifted into a gear I noticed the engine would gently tilt forward and then back to position. The movement is noticeable--about 1/2" to 1".

Any idea what's going on or am i in for some big $$$$ in repairs?

You are fine, if it is actually an inch you may have a worn/torn motor mount.

Check em out and replace them, or go with the window weld method.
