I have done 2 oil changes so far, I am up to 6000 miles.

I chage it every 3000 mi myself as i am a mechanic.

I use castrol 5w20 and i have used a honda filter once and this last time i have used a fram ultra performance one.

At 6000 you should also do a tire rotation!

I'm gonna do the same. i got the same products, I just cant wait until 5 or 6K . My friend who is a really good well trained mechanic, who owns Honda Accord regrets listening to honda about the oil changes. He siad change it at 3K with non synthetic oil, then again at 6K. At 9k im gonna put in synthetic.

honda motors rarely need synthetic oil unless they have over 150K miles!

They are just such well running motors! Just change the oil regularly! Save your money don't waste it on Synthetic!

I asked the dealer about bringing it in for an oil change -- it's approaching 6,000, with 40% oil life. I was told to wait until it hits 10%, no sooner than 20%, per the manual.

I change it yesterday......

5,280 miles ( 15% oil life wrench light on )
oil used: mobil 1 5w30
filter: honda factory one.

I went to the dealer but they said bla bla bla appointment bla bla bla, but they told me I could go anywhere to do it even myself, and that dont, do any against the waranty, so I went to where I took my older cars (no waranty ones) and they did it, were in love with the fit (as every one thet came in conact with) and they even wash my car so....... good isn't it?

500 miles on new 2011 and fed up with Honda dealership

I now have 3 maintenance schedules.
1) the MM (which btw I think is just BS )
2) a Honda tech gave me a page from an 09 model to follow
3) the service mgr gave their own "proven" schedule whic they say is better than the other two

And

All 3 are different.

Didn't mean to start anything, its just I'm SO confused .... never had a problem with any of my other vehicles, very straightforward, everything agreed (manuals, dealership, even a similar MM), but THIS is just ridiculous.

Easy solution. Honda stands behind IT's schedule which is the MM & your Owner's manual. Anything else, they won't support. (maybe the specific dealer will but not honda)

MM!

1st oil change at 9K miles, 2nd at 20K miles... currently sitting at 27K on the odo and 50%

Honda changed the oil for $38 with Synthetic both times. $38 every 8 months ain't too shabby.
