Unhappy 2007 Honda Fit Driver Side Glass Trim Replacement

Hey, since I'm new here I'm not sure what kind of information i should be supplying for DIY help questions, but I will try to be as thorough as i can be.

So I bought an 07 Honda fit about a month ago, the only external cosmetic problem was as shown below:

I had temporarily taped it up to keep rain out, but the trim obviously needed to be replaced. I now have the part in my hands, but i have no idea how to go about installing it. I had assumed i could just pop it in, so i broke off the remaining bit at the top and took off the tape. The only problem is now i'm pretty sure i need to take off the glass to attach the trim, but i don't know if you can simply pop off the glass or anything really. my technical knowledge is pretty poor, but i just want to try avoiding the $60 dollar quote given to me by a Honda dealer to have the piece attached, but if there is no help here i may have to. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hmm that looks like it would definately help me get the lower clip part in, but theres still another really hard to reach clip towards the top of the trim that would still be unaccessable. And looking at what that guy did to his car (taking off the bumper and unbolting the fender) seems far beyond what i would be able to do. I might be best off just sucking it up and paying . Thanks a lot for the help though!

I had replaced mine quite a while ago...and it was pretty ease if I remember correctly.
The mirror hit a snow marker pole at about 70-mph and exploded my mirror…I replaced the mirror and that molding. I do have the shop manuals that I got from here http://www.helminc.com/helm/search_service_owner.asp?Style=helm&class%5F2=AHM
