Good call on the Collinite 845. No wax I've ever used is anywhere near as durable and it is fairly user friendly as well. I've heard claims that Collinite 476s or Finish Kare 1000P are more durable yet but I haven't tried either of them. The consensus seems to be that both of them are substantially more difficult to apply than 845.

So far I'm fairly satisfied with Black Fire Wet Diamond sealant topped with Prima Hydro, Optimum Car Wax, Optimum Instant Detailer or Blackfire Deep Gloss Spray. It may not have quite the durability of 845 but it looks good and it is super easy to apply. Chemical Guy's Pete's 53 is my go to paste wax but most of the time the spray products are "good enough". When winter draws closer I may go back to using 845 instead of BFWD.

Hey Lost - watch for My-38MPG hanging around Moody's the first week of June. Show me your shine and I'll buy you a piece of pie ;-)

when i went to college, i took a class on detailing. shop teacher told us pure caranuba wax was the most durable of all waxes. the liquid waxes were junk and from experience to this day it seems to be the case, the old past caranuba lasted way longer than anything else i've used but is hard to strip away and usually requires a wax stripper if you need to get it all off.

although technically, if you really want to protect your paint jobs with long lasting shine, your all better off to just take it to a paint shop and have them put on about 6 coats of clear. Then the occasional light waxing and washing is all thats needed for the shiny. Those liquids are never going to really protect from anything more than some UV rays is about it. Acids like bug guts always eat through any waxes eventually. Its the clearcoat that gives the real protection.

True I was reading that too, but 845 is just too easy to apply etc to get anything else and I have a white car so I don't need it to look "deep" lol

The purer the Carnauba the better. It's a commodity. Yes and its pricey

For regular paste wax I use this. 37% brazilian yellow carnuba. $50 a tub but it's awesome.

ZYMOL CARBON WAX 8 oz

This is actually their cheapest wax. Check out this one for $8,416.00. 71% brazilion white carnuba.

ZYMOL ROYALE GLAZE 44 oz

They have an even more expensive wax but it's sold out! Shucks.

ZYMOL has a great Carnauba product line. Check it out on Amazon. Theirs another company that has it at it's purest. Over $100.00 Like I said it's a commodity. Comes from South America...Brazil being the largest producer of this product.

Peace from Miami...Go Heat!

I use some kind of Polymer liquid solution. Synths are more durable and Waxes look better, at least according to this Car Polymers Vs. Wax | eHow

Although I suggest any new car owner should immediately go to a body shop and have them put a half dozen layers of clear coat on it or something for some real durability. Waxes and stuff don't really protect much of anything, likely the road debri and rocks will cause more damage than waxing alone is worth, so get it clear coated first thing!

Also to the above pic owner, dirt is an abrasive and Honda has poor, cheap paint jobs by default, not good on paint to let it sit dirty like that for long.

Really like the license plate. You like long guns or pistols in .22?
