I am interested in the same thing. The dealer I talked to said that they could put cruise on though - they use a local shop.

I don't know why they cant do the factory cruise components.

cruise is one of the reasons why i went with the sport instead of the base

aftermarket is probably cheaper for them.. since you would have to change the steering wheel,etc.. (the cruise controls are in the steering wheel)

itsa a removable piece. you wouldnt have to change the whole wheel.

likely that panel and a brain sinces its DBW. in the newer vehicles like the trailblazer all i have to do to install cruise is put in a new turn signal stalk and it works since its all computer controlled.

dont get aftermarket cruise. it stinks. u add an ugly new stalk to the column and on the fit since there is no way to attatch it to the throttle it has to be attatched to the pedal itself. not a very good setup aftermarket.

I totally agree, it may cost a bit more to buy all the parts needed from honda, but I've had aftermarket cruise on motorcycles, and cars. They never work quite right and are usually always cobbled together in some way, at least in my experience.

I am with you on that one. It is the only thing on my list of requirements that did not get filled.

I looked and most say not avalible for Hondas.
The "drive by wire" means no-way to attach servo to throttle-body!

Has anyone confirmed that only the steering wheel panel needs to be changed? I'm thinking of buying a base Fit, but only if I can get cruise control working .

Dave;
Honda offers no cruise add-on for base Fit.
I talked to Dealer Automotive Service (1-800-394-8515).
They have a cruise for a different Honda "drive by wire"auto.
I talked to Steve Rush at DAS and he says they have a base Fit in the shop now and working on a Plug-in cruise for a base Fit.
It would help if other base Fit owners would call Steve and let him know they are interested in buying one (I want one).

I'm in the same boat, I don't want the Sport, I just want the cruise and the aux jack. I guess the jack can be added easily enough but no cruise control? Do you guys think that Honda will have something available aftermarket in the future, so if I bought a Fit now I might be able to bring it to a dealer a year from now and have them add cruise?

i doubt that.. honda never offered any cruise control "kits"

i ended up buying a sport for those two things.. if you add up the cost of the wheels, side skirts, etc.. it works out in your favor to get a sport

Cruise Control on a NON-Sport

Is it possible? (I'm sure if there's a will there's a way)
Does anyone know if Honda dealerships do this?
...I'm sure they would charge an arm and a leg though

I have no clue how it works on the Drive by Wire system, if it was a regular honda it could be done pretty eazly.

All I know is I didnt plan on buying a Fit when I did and had I really realized the little things the base didn't have like the AUX jack and cruise.

I would have just gotten the Sport.

Although honda.ca hasn't updated thier website yet, in Canada they are selling the LX with cruise control now (don't know about the DX).

db, any feedback on this cruise control; have you gotten it yet? I got my Fit last week and found this vendor through a separate search. Any idea where/how the control buttons mount?
