Dead Battery

its -15C outside and for the second time in 2 days my battery was dead. I called honda and they have 1 battery that fixes it with low cold cranking amps.
I work for Canadian Tire, and we don't EVEN sell a battery that fits the Fit.
Are there batteries that can be alternatives?

I just spent about $200 for the Braille B3121. It's rated at 550 CCA.

Braille Battery USA - B3121

There doesn't seem to be many reasonable alternatives.

A 51R (readilly available) will fit on a '07 -'08. I have one on mine.

I didn't go with the 51R because it would have been too wide for my short ram intake.

I was answering Halcyon's question, not responding to your post. For a stock '07 -'08 a 51R is a very reasonable alternative.

Pep Boys sells a Bosch for the fit. It's not cheap though and the CCA's aren't much better if any than the stock battery. Good thing about going stock is that it's prorated for eight years.

My dealer put in an Interstate battery on delivery of my used 07 Fit. It seems to be the same size as the original but Interstate's website doesn't list any batteries for the Fit and I don't see any size info on the battery case...

john, is there a model# on your battery? Or could you take a pic of it sitting in your engine bay?

It was a while ago but I don't remember seeing any model info on the battery. I plan on doing some work on it Monday. I'll take off the battery box, have another look, and post what I find.

Yeah get back to me. Mine's going dead as we speak and I'm trying to avoid the crappy low amp one from the dealer for $100.00.

Will do, completely understandable. Weather permitting I'll try tomorrow but Monday at the latest.

Hi Will, here are the pictures of my Interstate battery. The case measures roughly 8" high (8.75" including terminals), length 7", and width 4.75" . Hope this helps.

Same boat here. 2010, barely 5,000km not even on my first service yet. Woke up this morning to try and go to work. Dead battery. Battery window showing "charging necessary". The car is in the garage, temperature is barely below 7C outside and 15C inside the garage.

I've driven Honda for 20+ years and my last two Hondas have been nothing but troubles. Acura TL and now the Fit. The S2000 was flawless. It looks like Soichiro Honda took everything about Honda to the grave with him I'm so disappointed.

John, Thanks for taking the pics for me. I'm puzzled though cause Interstate doesn't list a battery for the fit. Time to do some more checking.

Thanks

I just called customer service at Interstate Battery and they have no listing for a battery for the fit.

Just bust out a tape measure and find one that will sit in the tray, or buy a big battery and relocate it to the trunk.

It's not rocket surgery guys..

yah, but can be dangerous for newbs that dont know wat they're doing. those batteries pack a punch and can literally hurt/kill someone if improperly handled or installed.
