JDM Wiper Mod.
#101
A really easy mod to do, had no problems following the instructions. Works exactly the same for us UK Jazz owners!
Heres mine:
This mod should be renamed the FR-V wiper mod, as the Honda FR-V's come standard with their wiper like this! Just a thought !

just did this. took me roughly 25 min. hardest part was taking the clips out that got stuck in the trunk and didn't come off with the trunk cover.
i was expecting the rear wiper to come off when i took the first 10mm nut off, but i couldn't get it off, without feeling like i was gonna break it. once i removed the rectangle piece to change the position of the the metal piece, the wiper moved, and bam...was in place. easiest mod i've done in a long time. looks awesome too.
thanks for the write up

i'm not saying don't do it - i'm just saying it's not the reason your rear wiper is still good

Rear wiper is likely OK as it is on the rear and not used as much. I have mine in the stiffy position. Be prepared

I drive on clay roads three times a week. This mod has DEFINITELY added life to my wiper. Before it was not unusual to have half an inch deep DIRT on the thing every other day. First blade was in shreds in a year... I'm still on the second blade.
One of the best mods for this car. It's free, it works, it's out of the field of vision, and it can be set back any time you want without issues.

I didn't bother with when I had the GD3 in California. Now that I live in Sao Paulo Brazil and have a GD1, this is a MUST for a dusty city. Thank you. Thank you.
P.S. So you know the Jazz GD1 in Brazil works the same way.

I just did this on my GE8. You do not need to remove the wiper or the lug nut. You just need to take the panels off, unbolt the bracket and remove the wiper motor from the bracket. Then take the pin out and adjust the wiper to be vertical. The move the pin opposite of where it was at. Put it back together and you done. I notice that the rear wiper doesn't clear when you are trying to bend it back. The top part of the wiper hits the spoiler. Nothing major, you just need to push the tip a bit to clear it when bending it back.

Has anybody done this mod that uses a drive thru type car wash with brushes and those big flopping strips of material. I'm somewhat worried that the wiper will be more vunerable to damage in the vertical position.

Yes I have, and no it does not cause problems...
I love this mod. Idk why, its simple. but for some reason it just changes the look of the rear a lot to me

I second this. I have a JDM Fit and mine is down like normal...
