Changing MT Fluid: An Observation
#22
I changed my ATF yesterday actually. The fit hit 30068. So I performed all the 30k stuff. I can feel the more smooth shifting after the change was made. I am wondering if this will effect MPG. I am going to keep on the lookout.

MTF change
Is this difficult to do? Is it just a drain plug somehwere?

The only reason I dislike changing MTF or diff fluid is that you have to fill "to overflowing." That's how you know you have enough fluid in the case. It's a dumb design, but it's been this way on all cars since forever.
The fill hole on the Fit MTF is a little awkward to reach, but no biggie. You will need a small plastic pump. Buy them at an auto parts store. They fit right into the MTF bottle. Use once and throw away (if you like).
Always loosen the drain hole first.
And use new washers when you button everything up.

The CR is the best car I have owned and I have owned a lot of nice machines (M3, S4, Integra GSR, CRX Si, Civic Si, 420 Sel, etc.).

Fixed. Don't take it apart if you can't put more in! Thats a real pain when that upper plug is seized beyond the capacity of your wrenching arm!

Sorry polaski. My bad. You are correct, sir. That is what I meant to say.
