fanbelt,,,time to change or not,,,

62,000 mile, 2007, and I thought it time to change the belt. The book is totally useless to me as far as when the factory recommends a new one. So what do you think? And BTW why the heck is it like $35.00 at the parts store?

dont even bother

it will probably outlast the lifespan of your entire car
if it starts to squeal just spray some belt silencer or even some silicone lube

if periodically sprayed, maybe every oil change, the belt will last forever

if it fails oh well..its not like a timing belt on an interference engine so all u would have to do is put on a new belt(or maybe even the same if it slipped off) with no damage done to your car (besides the belt of course)

thats why honda doesnt bother talking about when to replace the belt anyway

What drivel. 50-100K or 5 years from most belt mfgrs. per normal service.

$34 from the dealer, cheaper than a tow charge. And if they do break, you loose charging and waterpump, which could overheat the car. So not true about no damage to the car.
