I know this thread is ancient, but wanted to stop by and say THANK YOU for this mod! I just bought a 2008 Sport (with only 54k, it's a specimen) without having ever driven it, or any Fit. After the first few drives, I feared I had made a terrible mistake, and that I was cursed with a fantastic car which was terrifically uncomfortable to drive. This mod, along with futzing with seat position, has radically improved the driving experience. My local Ace Hardware had the exact parts (the 5 1/8" spring was in a drawer in the nuts and bolts section). Deeply grateful, thank you!

 

Welcome Over8GB. Nice mod eh. I have had mine for hmm maybe 10 years now. Enjoy the car. I have not found a replacement yet. Will be 11 years next week.

There are a lot of easy mods on here. I have bookmarked many over the years so just ask, Maybe someone can help
