OK installed with the same spring setup that DoubleR used...seems a bit stiffer but my commute tomorrow will be the tell tale sign to see if it helps.....right now I have the S hook all the way at the top....should I slide it down a little to get more resistance? I see that is where whisky has his?

I hope there isn't too much pressure on the grommet hole that houses where the reader plugs into!

The perfect spot is A) anywhere you don't bump it with your toe AND B) it's stiff enough

there should be a metal piece on the top, no?

Ok, drove in today and all I can say is WOW!!! What a difference compared to yesterday.........the pedal is nice and tight and no leg cramps at all!

Whiskey I do have it hooked up to the metal hole that houses the plug in port......,I just want to make sure that it doesn't put too much pressure on it lol

Thanks to op for a great mod and others who have shared their experiences... ....totally saved me......I was seriously thinking this car was not going to work for me

I used the same setup that doubleD used, the 3 1/2 inch spring.......part that took the longest was getting the shrink tube on the s hook,......

Really pleased with this! As you can probably tell lol

Hi Guys, finally got around to putting it on. On the gas pedal bar, I used an insulated eyelet (electrical wire holder/clamp) to hook up with the S hook to keep it in place. Looks like its firmly in place. I'll see how it goes after a few drives... Sorry for the highly technical terminologies.

Thanks Polaski... TC... BTW I used a 041 wire gauge 6 1/4x 3/8 spring instead.

The spring I used was 3 1/2....see a lot of you are using 5-6" springs...this is really giving enough resistance to make a diff??

Works for me BG. The stiffness feels pretty adequate. Don't know where you hooked up your spring but mine is all the way inside. Hooked it up to a metal eyelet way up underneath the console. 3 1/2 length spring would not have reached.

I used a 4 1/2" spring and 2 x 1 1/2" S hook and it worked fine. Now i can really hold the gas at 65mph without relying on CC. Best mod under $10!!

I am using the 3 1/2 spring and it reaches ok.....mine is a 2010 though and I have it hooked up to the one opening that you can hook to on a GE...s hook is also at very top of the pedal. I can see why a spring that size would be tough on a GD

It sure makes a big difference in comfort... I was almost always in agony from pain in my shin when using the pedal or sciatica from having to place my right foot flat on the floor when using the cruise control before Polaski came up with and shared this wonderful trick.. I might have decided to trade my car off if I hadn't done this trick to my car.

I told Koi to check this out. We are both suffering from a bad memory problem and forgetting that the accelerator pedal works both ways, since super charging our cars. Whenever I get to town I will get what is needed to do the same.

The original is still going strong! Never a single issue for me.

I'm glad this idea could help so many people. Honda should take note and beef up them springs

Went to Home Depot today, bought 2 2.5" springs since they had a bad selection (suprisingly). And oh man, what a huge difference. It's almost a new car to me!

Thanks Polaski!!

It works GREAT!!! Thank you!

I used 2 1/2" hooks and I went to a stiffer, 5/8" x 6-1/2" x 0.054 spring. Just a little slack when gas isn't pressed but gives great resistance otherwise, I even got 43mpg yesterday cos I don't floor it unintentionally anymore LOL.
