Coolant change
#3
The blue Honda Type II coolant has NO silicates and is an HOAT type.
It lasts a LONG time.
On older cars (like our 2006 V) the owners manual specifies a six year 120K mile change cycle. (You change it more often after that because you can't get it all out)

seems I'm dry
It seems (as in it's hard to tell where my coolant levels are) that I'm low on coolant. If that is the case do I have to use Honda Type II coolant or is there anything else (cheaper) that I can use that won't corrode my radiator?

I would stick with the honda stuff, Ive used it and it seems to be just normal blue coolant.
It comes ready mixed so that's handy just pour it in.
If you can find something else then theres the problem of colour and 'will it mix ok'

Shine a flashlight behind the reservoir bottle to make it easier to see the level.
I just got a gallon of 50-50 premixed Honda coolant for $12. I would stick with the Honda stuff.
If the reservoir is dry, re-check after a couple days...you may need to add more.
