Prestone Flush kit Where is the heater inlet hose on the Fit
#4
A quick tip for using these Prestone kits. They work fabulous, but the original plastic cap on the "T" can come loose during the normal expansion and contraction of the running the engine. On my 97 Jetta I would tighten it and then a week or so later smell antifreeze. It was just a few drops, but it was burning off on the exhaust manifold and you could smell that sweet smell.
I went to the local Gill Roy’s hardware store and in the pluming section got a brass cap for capping hose threads. It looks like and serves the same purpose as the original plastic one, only it didn’t drip in five years, where the plastic dripped immediately. I felt I could tighten it more.
Just my experience yours may differ
Also, I am curious why you guys are flushing so soon? I know CuTeBoi has put on a few miles with his near cross country adventures, but how many do you guys have?
