Unhappy Is there an inexpensive way to repair wheels

Let me first say, I love my wife dearly. I cannot live without her by my side...

With that said, she can't drive worth a damn! She has damaged my Fit on two seperate occasions. First, she went up a driveway WAY too fast and scratched the front lip. That wasn't so much an issue, a little sanding and some paint covered that up. But, a few weeks ago, when I was away for work, she ran into a curb. Then she apparently rode the curb for a good 5 feet. So, now there are some scratches along the lip of the wheel.

My question to anyone who cares is, how can I fix the wheel without spending much money? The wheels are the 15" alloys from Honda, so I'm not about to drop $200 on them. But, until I get money saved for custom wheels I'd like the stock set to look nice.

Sorry to hear about your predicament. There is no way to restore the wheels to new condition, and no one professionally repairs damaged wheels anymore- too much liability risk.

JB weld, sand, and paint them another color. you cannot bring back the machined face back with DIY tactics.

Check for totaled Fits in your area or the FS section on the forum. Best to get a new wheel if you want to retain the mirror finish.

individual wheels

wasn't there another post where someone was trying to sell individual wheels for spares or something?

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/sale...ize-spare.html

They'd be cheaper than buying one from Honda.

The wheel doesn't look bad from far away, but it bugs me everytime I wash my car. Thanks again for all the ideas.

Here on the East Coast we use this place:

Wheel Collision Center - Excellence in Refinished/Used Factory OEM Aluminum Alloy Wheel Rim Sales & Alloy Wheel Rim Straightening Repair & Refinishing! - Excellence in Refinished/Used Factory OEM Aluminum Alloy Wheel Rim Sales & Alloy Wheel Rim Strai

There MUST be a similar outfit near you.

I've had wheels trued and repainted and they do a guaranteed match. Can't say enuf good about them. My last job was about 120 per wheel.

That said, my "better half" scraped two wheels on our Acura recently , pretty deep too. I sanded and polished it out...then clear coated the repair. Not a bad result...

I give credit to Illusive – always keep in consideration for our salvaged comrades, especially at the junkyard, or even the impound lot (if you are lucky). Accidents happen every hour in the DFW metroplex – natives and transplants do not get along with one another, to my chagrin.
