Add a cabin filter to your Fit without AC
Hello All,
My 2007 DX manual doesn't have AC and therefore did not come equipped with a cabin filter.
I got curious and pulled the tray where it would have been and realized that all I had to do was cut some plastic fingers and my tray would be ready for a filter. The tray is the same with or without the filter. When there is no filter the air passage is blocked by a plastic baffle held in place by several plastic fingers. The baffle simulates the air flow resistance of a filter. Cut the fingers, remove the baffle, and add the filter and you have just upgraded your car.
Cheers

And you can buy the filter on-line for a pittance. Get several at once and you may get free shipping too!

cabin air filter
Wow, thanks so much. Your pictures really did the trick. I even found stuff that fell behind the glove box. After 70k miles my filter was pretty dirty. I used my compressor to blow out the obvious debris and will have to break down and buy a new filter, but I'd rather do that than pay the dealer $75+ to replace it. I LOVE THIS FORUM!

I love you guys lol, I had to go to the dealer today for my oil change ( i run syntec oil) i make them did the oil change only already 90$ Can. a filter is 20 and the cabin filter 39$. the service guy ( my dealer got good service really nice people, but still overprice) told me my filters should be change they ask 112$ ( plus taxe) so it is like 50$ in time... damn the air filter took me 30sec to change ( super easy compare to my old E30). but i was fearing that the cabin filter would be complicated... it seem that i was wrong! more like 2-5 min...
i need yo find a cheap filter now ( 39$ is too much for a filter!) :-)
Thank Man for that i was searching for that kind of DIY

Really cheap filters like cents
Hello all fello cheapos.
If you want a really cheap filter just get a furnace filter and cut it to size.
Even the smallest filter will make several filters for your fit.
You can get the furnace filter material in a folded up sheet and make more filters than you will ever need.
Easy to find at any Canadian Tire store and often on sale.
I do the same thing for my Subaru Legacy Turbo.
Cheers
