Finally painted rear badge succesfully

After being disappointed with the first attempt, I bought new paint, mixed colors, painted and varnished. 'Looks good finally. I wanted it to match the Fit dot, but it's close enough.

What type of paint and varnish did you use and what did you find works best in terms of prep, #coats etc?

I used paints from a craft store so it was cheap! And the brush was slightly firm-bristled - not too soft or too stiff. I gave up on trying to keep the paint off of the inside edges of the chrome 'H'. It was much easier that way. I've painted this badge twice now. The first time I wasn't happy with the color or the fact that you could see brush lines in it, but this last time I discovered that if I weighted the tailgate so it would stay horizontal instead of opening all the way, I could actually pour some of the varnish into the spaces, spread it out evenly and let it dry. It evened out the paint imperfections by having thicker varnish. I did 3 coats of varnish and now it's shiny and smooth. So if you have the color you're happy with from the get-go, I'd say 3 maybe 4 coats of paint and 3 coats of varnish. The paint dries FAST so there's almost no waiting between coats. I let each coat of varnish dry about 30 minutes before doing another layer.

Thats pretty unique. I likes it. It matches the fit dot pretty well and shows good contrast with the rest of the car.

Your decal is pretty cool, but I need to save room for my Florida Fit Club decal (if that all comes together).

And I still need room for my temporary "Minimum Wage for Politicians" bumper sticker later in the election year

that would be pretty cool if you painted the H emblem another shade of blue.
