In my neighborhood, and others its a law that you cannot have a building type erected in front of your house.
My dad bought something similar to that for a good $500. He bought it for his boat after he spent good money to get it re gel coated. Someone called code enforcement and we had to take it down.
I thought it was nice. He even cut it down lower so it was less noticeable. Kept winds from tossing it around and rain from getting on the boat.

I plan on it. Laws around here regarding added structures without county permits do not apply to temporary structures. I will sink pieces of pipe in concrete to hold the legs of the carport, and drill holes to bolt the legs into the pipes. Won't blow away, but still temporary. Fork the neighbors.

Nice Dave, you finally got something to protect your car AND nice use of the loop holes
On a side note, I had one of those tents long time ago and what I notice that if there is sack on the "roofing" water will get trap there. From the tiny picture from the website I couldn't tell if there is any sack on the "roof." So my point being is just watch out for water getting trap and that added weight might bring the thing down. Note I unsure if this is a better build quality from what my family had a time ago, but knowing you it probably something that is well built.

Thanks Jimmy. Shelter Logic is a pretty good brand, and this was a great price. I have some doubts about long life though- I think the squirrels around here will probably eventually put holes in the tarp roof. If this works well enough, I'll just plan on buying a $30.00 tarp from Ace Hardware and some bungee cords every 4-5 years.
