M1-104 or M1-110: Which M1 oil filter is better?

OK, folks, I'm gonna get a Mobile 1 extended performance oil filter for my 2008 Fit. Can I get some informed suggestions on which of these 2 is better and why? I know about amsoil v M1, and amsoil is a little better, but since I change oil frequently, I decided on the M1. Help please?

Mobil1 Oil Filter

I can't tell you which one is better, I can only tell you that the M-110 fits the Fit. I use them with Mobil1 0W-20 in Winter and Mobil1 5W-20 when it warms up. I also change oil with the car sitting right on the ground, I just reach up from under the front and unscrew the oil filter and it's not too hard to wipe the mounting area clean even though you can't see it. Lay on your left side and you can access the drain bolt with a 17 mm wrench easily by reaching in from just in front of the right front tire. Keep the shiny side up!

By the way, I disagree about the Amsoil after my experience in my Jeep Cherokee. I switched from Mobil 1 to Amsoil after becoming an Amsoil convert, and kept noticing that my weakest lifter in the Jeep took some time to pump up after startup. I changed back to Mobil 1 and the problem disappeared. I had a Civic Si with 282K miles that was run exclusively with Mobil 1 and was still impeccable until we hit the moose...but oil tends to be a religion and I'll respect yours if you respect mine =)

Thanks for the info - real good stuff. I got 3 M1-110s at Bennett Auto Supply yesterday fro $8.99 a piece. Need to pick up some of the drain plug washers. I've got the drive-up ramps I used on my old Ford so I think I use them on the Fit. I'm thinking of the 5W=30 down here in South Florida where it gets so darn hot all the time. I suppose Fairbanks never gets real hot like down here.

This would be a great time for someone who really understands VTEC to chime in...in the shop manual about the only thing that's noticeable regarding how the VTEC works is an oil pressure sensor...so before switching viscosities you may wish to call the Customer Service number listed on the Owner Link site and ask them if going to a thicker viscosity will alter the operation of the VTEC. I have yet to devote time to a detailed search of exactly how the VTEC is actuated. Anyone listening?

M1-104 Capacity

The M1-104 has a larger capacity than the M1-110. They both "fit" all Honda models, except the S2000, but the M1-104 requires you increment the oil change by 0.2 quarts to maintain normal oil level in the pan.

In the case of the Fit this is convenient; you can add four full quarts at your oil change! This is the reason I switched 60,000 miles ago with no negative consequences.

That's good to know. That would come in handy for me on a long road trip...
