Dealership Sticker Removal

Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas when it comes to removing a sticker that the dealer put on. Unfortunately its not all just 1 sticker, every letter in an individual sticker. My friend used a razor blade on his car but i dont want to do that with the chance of messing up the paint.

Yeah don't use the razor blade method. you're asking for it. Easiest way to do it is to go buy a bottle of Goo Gone first. Then take your Fit to a local wand wash and use regular water and put the tip about a cm or two away from the decal and it will break apart and fall off. Make sure you keep an eye on your timer otherwise it might turn off in the middle of doing this and you'll push the wand into your car and take a piece of your car with it. Once you do that, you'll have some adhesive residue that you can easily remove with the Goo Gone.

I had the same, and just drove it back to the dealer and had them remove it.

Just like above I would return it to the dealership and have them remove the sticker. All of that should have been removed before you drove it off the lot - this way if there is any damage or problems with removing - they
will be obligated to fix it - if you do it and there is a problem they'll just say we're not responsible -

If it is the sticker advertising the fealership and it is just vinyl use you fingers to remove the vinyl and the goo gone gor the residue. If it if the plastic/metal type you can use a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive and remove. We get cars from other dealers and have to remove them.

agree with above post. But to save a step, I tell the dealership to take all of their crap off before I drive the car home!

I got to the dealership just as they were unloading my Fit. I told them immediately, and several times while filling out the paperwork, "DO NOT PUT one of your stickers on MY CAR!" I even had the salesman escort the car to the back detail shop area and tell those guys to not put a sticker on my car.

That particular dealership is horrible about their dealership stickers. I see them on cars on their lot, and all over town - they put the stickers on WAY crooked and usually choose a sticker color that doesn't match the car color. For instance a Grey sticker on a Yellow car, or a Pink sticker on a black car.

heat gun to loosen up the sticker then use a PLASTIC razor blade to remove. The use some 3M adhesive remover or even WD-40 to get the remaining glue off. Follow all that up with a little polish or wax to protect.

From my past experiences u should be able to remove ALL glue residue with WD-40 and a good quality microfiber towel n' some elbow grease!
Or as stated above "take it to the dealership"... !

GOOD LUCK

GOO GONE FTW! i used an ipod opening tool instead of a razor because it has a non-abrasive coating = no scratches. goo gone and a microfiber for a nice, clean finish See? No FIT!

Yea i know, she's a dirty whore...

On my current car, I used some VERY hot water, and slowly poured it in the sticker, and then progressivly fingernailed the sticker off.

LOL...I have done that before, unfortunetly your fingernail feels like it is going to fall OFF after the job is complete.
