Blaze Orange Metalic Paint Question!!! Please Help

so here is the deal im considering buying a Blaze Orange Metalic fit in the very near future but a big thing for me is paint durability... as i can already tell the paint quality on fits is trash so that aside (ill be getting a clear bra im sure) i need to know about swirlys yes i said swirlys! you know...those little circular scratches all over black and red cars after a few months of the new paint being washed... i wanted a black fit but then very quickly after remembered how the sun ate my clearcoat on my last car and how they get rediculous swirlys quickly. wax covers it up but only temporarily the colors that dont get swirlys (they do but you cant see them because the way the light is reflected) are silver (not a fan) and white wich i considered but just seems a bit to bland for my taste. i want a sport so the light blue one is out of the question....SO BLAZE ORANGE METALIC wich ive been considering for a while (and a bit of stalking from mike (ezek whore) sending me pics of them to my cell phone YOU BASTARD! <3 lol) has basically become my final answer with the stipulation that it doesnt get swirlys!!!

THE PROBLEM YOU SAY!!!????

ive never seen one in person that wasnt at a dealership... so the deal is ive never seen a car thats not brand new in this color up close so i need to know from all the BOM owners if they have swirlys or does the way the sun reflects the color does not reveal them.

so in closing
am i gunna get swirlys if i get my orange fit

the answer?????

THE POWER IS YOURS!

(sings captain planet jingle)

ps
sorry this post is so long please help

Had mine for over six months now, it gets washed at least once a week. Been waxed three times. No swirlys that I've seen and only a few small chips of paint on the hood. As for swirlys due to washing, I took the advice someone else had posted in the fit care subforum for washing...ie. have an extra bucket with just rinse water and rinse yer sponge/cloth alot during washing to keep grit from scratching the paint/clear coat. Worked for me so far. I'd get the BOM, but since I have one, I'm partial.

of course this is true but with lighter colors they are less noticable ive never ever seen a silver or white car with a swirly mark...obviously the marks are made in the clearcoat and all cars get them i should say that my question is not if it will get them physically but superficially so of course there will be swirlys but are they noticable like a red cars or a black cars i plan on washing it regularly and not nessesarilly waxing it all the time but once in a while. so of course all cars get swirlys but are they going to be noticable and if so would they be comperable to the swirls on a black or red car or would they be equivlent to a white or silver car

My BOM is 9 months old now- no "swirlys" at all. But I did buy the dealer applied paint sealer and interior protectant spray treatment. I use a car cover except in the rainy season, a California Car Brush to remove dust & grit before the cover goes on, and use the Turtle Wax "Ice" car wash soap and synthetic polish system. It still looks brand new.

Wouldn't have bought the paint sealer if my car didn't live under redwood trees with sap that looks like blood stains on car pant.

I have a BOM and have not noticed any swirls, just scratches where my cats like to be on top of my car, which sucks. They did the same thing with my other car (Escort ZX2), but that's the price you pay for having felines! I love my BOM cause I've noticed that in the sun, it looks more copper, and actually changes colors, depending on whether the sun is out or not. I didn't know if I would like the BOM, but when I saw it online, I fell in love with the color (and I'm not an orange person)!

I have a prescription for swirly prevention - Wax the living bejesus out of it! If nothing ever touches the paint, nothing can ever cause swirlys.

Just my position on the issue...

What kind of wax do you use on your Fit? Mine is now a month old and I've hand washed 4 times with excellent results but know it is about time to lay down a coat of wax - which works best on the Fit?

BOM sport Fit

My Fit is almost a year old now, and the paint is still looking new, although I do take very good care of it. If you are going to the fit meet on the 30th I plan on being there so you can take a look at my car. Also in my opinion if you wax it constantly and take real good care of it, the color tends to seem darker, like the JDM imola orange.

Back in high school I got in the habit of using Maguier's paste wax in a tin. They may very well have invented something better in the last 10 years, but I've always been satisfied with it!

If you keep enough wax on the car that nothing ever touches the paint, then it should be cherry for years to come. I might also agree that it seems to change the color a little, but I would guess that it is because you see it as a richer color. When a car is not well waxed, light rays reflect in all kinds of different directions, thereby dispursing the reflected orange light waves. When the car is more well waxed (and I'm not a physicist, but this makes sense to me), I'm thinking that you would actually see (they would enter your eye) more of the reflected light waves, resulting in a more intense visual signal being sent to the brain....

Just thinkin out loud...

You will get as many answers to your question as there are fitfreak members- everyone has their own opinion. I recently tried a new "system" of car wash soap, synthetic polish/spray detailer from Turtle Wax called "Ice". The synthetic wax is applied with a special sponge and goes on as if it were olive oil. It dries in minutes and polishes off with no effort using a micro fiber cloth. On plastic surfaces with rough texture like the bumper protector tape, it does not leave any white residue as is common with wax. You don't need a toothbrush to remove white residue from the body seams.

The car wash soap dries without water spots on paint treated with the polish, and the finish lasts for months.

Now all of our detailers can yell "Turtle Wax is junk"!!! I used to think so, but this formula seems to justify its advertising promises. And yes, I have a Sport BOM.
