Manual paddle shift squirreliness

I have a new '07 fit Sport AT.
When I first got it, the gear lights (m1, M2, M3, etc) would come on when I shifted to the Sport mode. After about 3 or so weeks I noticed that they wouldn't come on in the Sport Mode, until I hit one of the paddles.
I took it into the dealer and they said that they tried it against a couple other Fits they had on the lot and said they also wouldn't come on until the paddles are activated. Everything check OK on computer analysis.
Also, the other morning, as I was driving to work, while the car was cold, I noticed, while in the Drive mode, that for a split second, the gear light came on then went out...it never lights while in drive unless I activate the paddles.
So did I imagaine all that? Anyone out there have the same thing? Or what should it REALLY be doing?

One other thing...could also be my imagination. I am noticing that there is a hesitation when I accelerate gently and that the engine seem louder and a bit more labored on the highway than when first purchased. when I get the chance I'll recheck mpg. Earlier on I got 34mpg combined.

About 2400 miles on the car. Still on the original oil

Any input or suggestions?

Thanks,

KP

This is normal as explained in the owners manual and my experience with my Sport AT.
